THE CREATION OF A DIAMOND

LavDiamonds were created deep within the earth 3.5 billion years ago when under extreme temperatures and pressure liquid carbon was crystallized forming diamonds. Every diamond is very old as much as the world and has plenty of secrets.

Diamonds which are older than stars have an amazing journey. While rocks eroded overtime diamond survived in fact as they were harder than the rocks. These diamonds lay undiscovered for hundreds of millions of years. In this process diamond kept their secrets with them. They also do and will.


DISCOVERY

First diamonds were mined in India. It was over 4000 years ago. Even there are a lot of technological methods; it is still very hard to reach the diamond. Geologists try to find them that the most valuable stones in the world, from Siberia to Canada, from the deserts of Africa to the bottom of ocean.

Diamond are extremely rare ad it is estimated that it takes 1.3 tons of rock reveal just 1 carat i.e., 0.20 grams of diamond.

Modern mining as we know, it began in South Africa in the late 19.th century. Today, the top seven diamond-producing countries are Botswana, Russia, South Africa, Angola, Namibia, Australia and Zaire.

When diamonds first found, people believed that diamonds had magical power. They thought rough diamonds cure all kind of illness and make people who wear it as strong as the gem.

MYTHS

Today diamond symbolizes wealth, durability, status, and peerless quality. Across time and cultures, diamond has also been associated with invulnerability, lightning, magic, healing, protection, and poisoning. "Diamond" comes from the Greek adamao, transliterated as "adamao," "I tame" or "I subdue." The adjective "adamas" was used to describe the hardest substance known, and eventually became synonymous with diamond. Greeks saw them as tears of the Gods, Romans believed they were a shards of the stars. Indians referred to diamonds as hard and invincible and Hindu mythology says the wearer of a diamond protected from evil and illness. Queens and concubines put on diamonds because of the belief of its power, passion. Kings were wearing diamonds while they were in battle as a symbol of courage, strength.

Over the centuries, diamond acquired its unique status as the ultimate gift of love. Since the creation of diamonds they have been associated with legend and romance. Around the world the beauty and romance shinning out from a simple solitaire says all the heart feels but words cannot express. So that Archduke Maximillian gave a diamond ring to Mary of Burgundy that the engagement ring was introduced. Placing the ring on the third finger of the left hand based on the early Egyptian belief that Vena Amors, vein of love, runs directly from the heart to the tip of the third finger.
